A 43-year-old Danish serial-fraudster has been convicted for a £100,000 fraud after he posed as an international businessman, offering friends and business partners the opportunity to invest and buy lucrative wine packages, when in reality he was using the money to fund his own champagne lifestyle.
The full extent of his fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Met’s FALCON (Fraud and Linked Crime Online) unit, which identified over 20 people who had fallen victim to the con artist through the course of its investigation.
