Some of the thoughts that define Mr Petraeus philosophy regarding his Coaching Methods
K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, Stupid!
The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complex, therefore simplicity should be a key goal and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
* “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” (Leonardo da Vinci)
* “It seems that perfection is reached not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away” (Antoine de Saint Exupéry)

Be S.M.A.R.T. – Set S.M.A.R.T. goals
This goal setting acronym approach has been around for a long time and it still works!
You increase your odds of reaching your goal if you answer yes to all of these as you set the goal:
– Specific – Describe details: what?, why?, who?, where?, which?
– Measurable – can someone else measure and see that I reached my goal?
– Attainable – is this goal actually reachable?
– Realistic – even if it is reachable, is it realistic that I am willing to do what it takes to reach it?
– Time-Bound – give each step a time frame. Commit to a deadline

Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future… and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality. END OF QUOTE
