FORMER BOSS DESCRIBES THE SOLE PERSON CHARGED IN GIANT DANISH TAX FRAUD SCANDAL AS A VERY SWEET, KIND AND HELPFUL PERSON

January 15, 2017

An elderly male office clerk working for Danish tax SKAT in a subordinate position is the hitherto sole person charged by the Danish authorities in a giant scandal about fraud with the refunding of dividend tax.
The alleged crime was directed against SKAT and is currently amounting to 12,3 billion DKK.
In a tv-documentary “The Billion Coup” produced by Danish Television the public learn details about this charged person for the first time. For security reasons he is presented only by his first name Sven.
In the documentary Sven’s former boss, Lisbeth Rømer, is asked about, what kind of person Sven is?
She answers: “A very sweet…, very helpful. Always ready to do everything for everyone, who unfortunately has fallen into the clutches of the wrong ones. And that is both SKAT and the swindlers. Because with the hazard flashers that were continuously being turned on by Internal Auditing SKAT ought not to have allowed one person to be left alone managing all this”.
Lisbeth Rømer was chief of the department at Danish tax SKAT where Sven was employed. She went into retirement in 2013, and Sven’s next chief was situated in Jutland, while Sven was working in Taastrup, a suburb to Copenhagen.
Staffs had been reduced at the department, while Lisbeth Rømer was heading it and she explains: “I felt enormously pity for those who remained, that it had to be that way. Because they were left totally totally on their own.
Sven who stopped working in 2016 because SKAT “had lost confidence in him” had been employed by Danish tax since 1970.
The tv documentary “The Billion Coup” was broadcasted by DR1 on December 20, 2016.
